24/7 pill drop now at Carlsbad Police Department

Now you don't have to wait for drug takeback events to dispose of your prescription or over-the-counter pills! Simply come by Carlsbad Police Department's lobby on the 100 block of North Guadalupe and drop them in the new disposal box. Carlsbad Community Anti-Drug Gang Coalition purchased this community asset, and CPD is kind to host it. The lobby is open all hours and days, except on rare occasions.

This service is anonymous. Medications can be in bags, original bottles, or loose.

Drug takeback is back this Saturday

The prescription and over-the-counter drug takeback is back! This Sat. Oct. 26, 8 AM to 2 PM at the Lake Carlsbad beach. Held in conjunction with hazardous waste dropoff day. NO NAMES TAKEN for the drug takeback. Do your part to keep drugs off the streets and out of our water supply! Come say hi and drop 'em off! Thanks to Carlsbad Police and Fire Departments for their support.

WHOOMP they did it again

The following is a Pecos Valley Drug Task Force press release:

On the morning of March 7, 2013 Agents of the Pecos Valley Drug Task Force located Robert Martinez in a room at the Continental Inn located at 3820 National Parks Highway. Martinez had a Federal Arrest warrant for Possession with intent to distribute a controlled substance to wit: Heroin, and Carrying a firearm during and in relation to a drug trafficking crime. After a short standoff Martinez came out of the motel room and was arrested without incident.

Pecos Valley Drug Task Force honored for dealer round-up

On Feburary 28, 2013, Agents of the Pecos Valley Drug Task Force, Special Agents of the Federal Bureau of Investigations and the Drug Enforcement Administration were honored by the United States Department of Justice District of New Mexico for a joint operation called “Operation Chingobling.” US Attorney Kenneth Gonzales presented this award.
