Carlsbad’s First Rx Takeback a Success

Thanks and kudos to Ken Hargues of Southwest Pharmacy, Detective Captain Daniel Fierro, Jose Nunez and Officer Blaine Rennie of Carlsbad Police Department, Mike Ristom, Jim Burt and Casey Collins of Carlsbad Fire Department, Ben Kesner of New Mexico Board of Pharmacy, and Keep Carlsbad Beautiful for their part in Carlsbad’s first prescription drug takeback event! The takeback was conducted as part of the Great American Cleanup hazardous waste disposal event at Lake Carlsbad beach on April 24, 2010.

Candy or Tobacco?

A new generation of novelty products made by tobacco companies blurs the lines, making it easy for children to mistake them for fun treats.
